Drop of Water is rated 3 out of 5 in the category nonprofit organization management. Read and write reviews about Drop of Water. In 2009 seven young women studying at Mekelle University in Northern Ethiopia recognized their responsibility to improve life for those living in rural communities. They came together and organized a grass roots student lead movement to increase water access and dignity for rural Ethiopians. Today that movement goes by the name Drop of Water, a local nonprofit which stays true to its grass roots spirit. What makes Drop of Water different is its unique connection to the communities they serve, ultimately fueled by the passion, and commitment of its volunteers. Anyone can build a well, but Drop of Water organizes the incredible power of African youth. They introduce university volunteers to rural communities, and challenge them to improve their water/sanitation situation.
