Rotaract Club of Keroggie is one of the 16 Rotaract Clubs in Ethiopia in District 9212 of Rotary International. The club was established in November 2004 by previous members of the intuition based RC Abugida and was chartered on the 50th anniversary of Mother Club –Rotary Club of Addis Ababa in March 2005. Throughout its 10 years existent the club has grown to have 70 active members, 13 directorates, a president’s advisory committee comprising of all past presidents and above all recruits interested and committed members who are using the opportunity to develop their professional and leadership skills. Rotaract is short for Rotary in Action, an official program of the Rotary International approved in 1968. The clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Its membership totals over 184,000 in more than 8,000 clubs worldwide. Rotaract clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either university- or community-based. Individual Rotary clubs sponsor Rotaract clubs and offer guidance and support, making the Rotaract clubs true “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary. The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
